Erving Goffman

Goffman Erving (1922–1982) kanadský sociolog, žil v USA. Založil dramaturgickou sociologii, která stojí na fenomenologických východiscích. Někdy je řazen k symbolickému interakcionismu. Jeho sociologická teorie je postavena na metafoře divadla (jeviště, hlediště, zákulisí, role, postava, herec). Dílo: The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life (1959) – vyšlo česky s názvem Všichni hrajeme divadlo. Sebeprezentace v každodenním životě (1999), Asylums: Essays on the Social Situation of Mental Patients and Other Inmates (1961), Encounters: Two Studies in the Sociology of Interaction – Fun in Games & Role Distance (1961), Stigma: Notes on the Management of Spoiled Identity (1963) – vyšlo česky s názvem Stigma.
